Norman started playing for the Southfield Lathrup Falcons little league and ended up at Groves. When he was a freshman he was on JV’s. As a sophomore he started at linebacker on varsity. Nornan played all four years at Birmingham Groves and, "it was the greatest experience of my life." As a senior he was a captain, "where I had the pleasure to lead the great group of guys on my team. If it wasn’t for my teammates, I wouldn’t be where I am today." Norman was a three year letter winner. During his sophomore year on varsity he played linebacker and on special teams. He played linebacker and wingback his junior year, and running back and linebacker his senior year. He earned the Most Valuable Back award from his teammates as a senior. Norman broke two records, single season tackles 151 and career tackles 362.


Norman thanked, "my brother Tyson who also played for Groves. He played linebacker, and I owe a lot to him because he prepared me for high school football. Tyson was an all league, all area player, who graduated in 2000." He thanked both of his parents, especially his mom "for always being there for me." He thanked his father, "for making me strong," and his teammates, "for always helping me." He thanked, "all the coaches for their great work and dedication and I am grateful to Groves football and the great program Birmingham Groves has put together."
