Truman is the son of Jim Hadley and Rachelle Mann, he has one older brother, Cameron (24), who also played for Chelsea High School as a linebacker for coach Brad Bush.

Truman started playing football in the pee-wee football leagues in  Chelsea. His father, Jim, was a coach of the team where Truman played defensive end and outside linebacker. Throughout middle school and his freshman year, Truman played linebacker. Truman’s sophomore year he was brought up to varsity for the inside linebacker position on the Bulldogs’ varsity squad. He started off a special teams player on kick off, kick and punt return and a fullback for the goal line offense. He continued to play at all these special teams and goal line position throughout his junior and senior years. His junior year, he moved to outside linebacker. As a starter in the defensive secondary, the first year at a new position, earned Truman all conference honorable mention. His senior year he was the defensive captain as the strong side outside linebacker and helped lead the Bulldogs to a South Eastern Conference Championship. Truman lead the defense with 84 solo tackles and 52 assists, 7 sacks for a loss of 45 yards, 2 punt blocks, 3 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries with 1 interception returned for a touchdown.

 

Coach Bush said, "Truman is the best linebacker Chelsea football has ever had." Truman earned several awards after his senior season: All Conference, All League, Washtenaw County Dream Team, All Area, and All State Honorable Mention.  Truman will attend Ferris State University to study criminal justice and to play the linebacker for the Bulldogs. 

 

Truman also played basketball and lacrosse at Chelsea. Truman attended the Michigan State Police Student Trooper program where he graduated top of his class and was chosen to be the class orator for the graduation.

Truman thanked his father Jim Hadley for "helping along the way with football, Coach Adam Taylor, for the effort he put forth helping improve my playing abilities and the abilities of the team as a whole." He also credited, "Head Coach Brad Bush for pushing me and giving me the opportunity to excel." Lastly, Truman thanked his position coach, Dan Brown, "who made my junior and senior years the best years of sports I could ever ask for."
