Chris is the son of Timothy and Kyria Gore.  He has an older brother, TJ, Timothy James Gore (25).  Chris said, "I am very grateful that my family could stick with me throughout my life and support me in all my endeavors.

Chris started playing football at the age of eight for the Saint Veronica Vikings.  Ever since that day he fell in love with the game.  In sixth grade he joined his future high school teammates on the Macomb Mustangs.  It was there that he got to play his natural position of defensive end.  After a few years of little league football, Chris made his decision to attend Dakota High School and couldn’t have been happier with his choice.

During his freshman year, Chris was a starter on the junior varsity team and eventually got moved up to varsity later in the season.  His sophomore year, he started as an offensive guard and helped his team break a scoring record that season.  His junior year, he finally saw time at defensive tackle and led his team in sacks.  His senior season he played both ways as an offensive tackle and a defensive end, but due to injuries had to play defensive tackle.  He ended this season leading his team in sacks, winning an MVP award for the MAC conference, and making the dream team for both the Detroit News and the Detroit Free Press.

Chris also played basketball for two years.

Chris thanked, "God for my football talent."  He said, "God gave me these talents and I’m happy that I get the opportunity to use them to do something I like.  I also thank my family members for supporting me and helping me reach this point in my football career;  My coaching staff for giving me the opportunity to start on a great team with my friends, and helping me refine my skills to prepare me for the next level; My friends and teammates for sticking by me, supporting me, and also helping me workout and pushing me to the next level.  We accomplished a lot of great things in the time we had, and I will always cherish these moments."
