Mike graduated from Leslie HS in 1987. He is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene University lettering all four years in football. Mike also played four years of semi-professional football in Michigan.

Mike’s coaching career began in 1991 at Hartland High School under Hall of Fame coach, Tom Barbieri. He was a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Olivet Nazarene, for one season. He then became defensive coordinator at Leslie, his hometown, in 1993, with his brother Scott. His first teaching job was at Mio Au Sable High School in 1995. He moved to his next school, Covington Holmes HS (KY). Mike was defensive coordinator from 1996-2000 and head coach from 2001-2002.  He is currently Head Coach at Grand Haven HS where he has compiled a 39-19 record, has won a Conference Championship, and had three playoff appearances. His overall record stands at 71-37, with 7 playoff appearances. Coach Farley was selected Regional Coach of the Year in 2005, 2009 and 2010 as well as Associated Press Division 1 & 2 State Coach of the Year in 2009.

Mike is married. He and his wife, Lori, of twelve years, have three children: Robert (28), T.J. (24), Traci (22) and two grand children, Maliah and Tracen.

Mike said, "I am tremendously honored to have the opportunity to coach in this prestigious game. Being able to represent high school football in the state of Michigan is very exciting. Working with these coaches and players will be a rewarding and a memorable experience."
