Brogan started playing football in eighth grade for something to do in the fall. He averaged two touchdowns a game, punted, and played special teams. His freshman year he played JV, starting all games. He had the privilege to move to varsity for the playoffs and was on the 2005 State Championship team. His sophomore year he started as strong safety for the Rams, helping them again reach the state finals. His junior year, their season would be cut short in the regionals, it was at that game, Brogan along with a core group of would be seniors vowed to play on Thanksgiving weekend at the state finals. They were met with adversity along the way but became the 2008 Division 1 State Champs. Brogan earned his team’s MVP award along with many post season honors. He finished his year with 106 tackles and in the top of the OK Red Conference.


Brogan was a three sport athlete. He earned his varsity letter all four years for track as well as conference, district, and regional honors for 110 hurdles. He also ran at the state track meet since his sophomore year. Brogan also played basketball, starting as a guard and lettering his last three years. Brogan was voted Best Defensive Player by his basketball team, and given a Leadership Award by his coaches. Brogan also earned his varsity letter and sung in his school choir.


Brogan thanked his family, "for their motivation, support and never missing a game, track meet or choir concert." He thanked the many fans and supporters of Rockford Athletics. He gave a special thanks to all his coaches through-out his career at Rockford, and especially to Coach Ralph Munger and Coach Randy Vanderveen, "for challenging, believing and being excellent role models." Lastly, Brogan thanked, "My Dad, Charles, who I know watched every game from the 50."
