Jacob has always had a passion for football, and began playing youth football at age 9 for the Rochester Redskins. As a sophomore at Rochester Adams, he was a member of the Highlanders 2003 State Championship varsity team. As a junior, he led his team to an undefeated regular season and through the playoffs, earning League, District, and Regional Championships, and playing in the state semi-finals game. He repeated that feat in his senior year, again taking a perfect season into the semi-finals. Jacob amassed a total of 5,364 yards and 63 touchdowns, and a recorded a 24-2 record as a starter. He was voted outstanding offensive player two years in a row and selected as a co-- captain his senior year. He was also a scholar athlete for four years.

Jacob thanked, "the Adams and Redskins and Kensington communities for their incredible support and encouragement through the years, and my teammates and coaches for their great work and dedication. I especially thank my family, who have always been and continue to be, always, unconditionally, there for me."
